South Africa is the most popular hunting destination on the continent. The wealth of species on offer, the wide range of hunting experiences, overall affordability and fantastic infrastructure all contribute to a world-class African hunting destination.
Most concessions are easily accessible via OR Tambo International in Johannesburg, which is also a large part of the appeal in choosing South Africa for your hunting experience.
We particularly specialised in wing shooting throughout South Africa, something that has gained increasing popularity in the past few years among hunters headed to the continent to test their skills. From the semi-desert in the west to the plains and rivers of the high veld and on to the savannas of the north, the wing shooter can find more than 20 different species of game birds.
The more popular regions tend to be primarily a mixed crop farming area particularly rich in both game birds and waterfowl. As hunter you will be tested by flighted Doves and pigeons over sunflower fields and walk-up Snipe in the wetlands. The best wing shooting opportunities are present during April, May, June, and July for pigeon shooting and June, July, and August for seasonal species in most of South Africa’s provinces.
Being a rather social affair, wing shooting is best done in small groups. The ideal size of the group is four to eight hunters, we can personally structure the trips to suit the team, however…our most popular packages are listed below.

Key Facts
Whatever your shooting adventure be, we can work on a tailored package to suit your chosen experience.
Our experience lies in the Wing Shooting areas of the country, the bird species most hunted in Southern Africa range from Rock Pigeons & Sand Grouse to Guinea Fowl & Francolin. Including a variety of Ducks and Geese, not to mention the Spur-winged Goose, the largest Goose in the world! All making for a very varied and challenging hunting experience. If your wing shooting preferences lean toward ducks, the Yellow Bill, White-faced Whistling, and African Shell duck may be your “cup of tea”. Several species of Teal are also available, and these small, quick, agile waterfowl can give even the most competent of shotgunners a real run for their money. All species are not available in all areas, and local province restrictions may apply, so be sure to make your preferences known when booking your safari.
